At Vets on the Park we believe that every pet needs and deserves one on one attention with one of our experienced Vets and Nurses to ensure correct medical diagnosis. That’s what we mean when we say "treating your pets...like our own!"
Sometimes, your pet may be suffering symptoms which may be easily treated with a routine operation or a simple course of medication but these may appear distressing for your pet or confusing to owners.

At Vets on the Park you can rest assured that your pet is in safe hands and we will spend the time necessary talking to you and examining your pet to find out what the problem may be and to offer you the correct treatment.

Our practice provides a range of pet care services, some of which are listed below.

If you have any questions about your pet's need for treatment or a specific aspect of our service, please call us at the surgery or book an appointment to come and see us.

Treatments
Dental Treatments

At Vets on the Park we have a team of dedicated Veterinary Surgeons and Qualified Nurses who carry out dental treatment on cats, dogs and rabbits.

Keeping a mouth healthy and clean is just as important for your pet as it is for you and we believe that many diseases can be prevented by maintaining good dental hygiene. Sometimes we will recommend that your pet comes to see us for a dental if we find something untoward in its mouth during a routine examination. Or you may notice that your pet is not eating its food or has difficulty chewing or swallowing.

If this is the case then we may recommend that you clean your pet’s teeth using an animal toothbrush and toothpaste, change your pets diet and use liquid dental hygiene suppliments to prevent plaque build up.

However, if we feel that the underlying problem needs further investigation we will recommend that your pet is given an anaesthetic so that one of our highly experiences members of staff may investigate inside your pet’s mouth. At this time we will also be able to preform a scale and polish (just like a human dentist) and also extract any teeth that are damaged.

Neutering of animals
At Vets on the Park we believe that most cats and dogs both male and female should be neutered (castrated/spayed) unless they are to be used specifically for breeding.

Many people think that allowing their cats or dogs to have a litter is of benefit but this is not the case. Indeed, allowing cats to produce many litters of kittens may result in an increase in the stray population and as a responsible pet owner you will not want to encourage this.

At our practice we believe that every pet deserves to be a wanted pet and so we strongly encourage owners to come and talk to us about neutering.

If you are thinking about having your pet neutered but are unsure about the procedures involved, please come and talk to one of our veterinary surgeons and qualified nurses. They will put your mind at rest and will talk you through when to have your pet neutered, what to do before the operation, the operation itself, caring for your pet after the operation, and any other concerns which you may have.
